I have walked by it, through it and all around it. I’ve wandered through every section and seen the titles on spines change as the months went on. Seen Terry Pratchett in his hat signing his wonderful books and the crew of the Mighty Boosh attracting hoards of dressed up fans. Myself, in a poor attempt deciding to get a signed copy of Gordon Ramsay’s book but lacking the stomach or the patience to stand in such a queue for hours

It was a very nice location, in the heart of the city, watching the bustle of Buchanan street, with the street performers: magicians, and musicians, and break dancers. The building itself was lovely too but as you can see, the dark insides on Boxing Day 2009 make it an empty shell.

A  few pics, not that I used it anywhere interesting

Using my superpowered brain and a dash of ‘Oh Look At The Big ADVERTS’  … I realised it was an event from Knockhill racing circuit and you can go see what the event was all about.

Of course If I had known about it I would have definetly taken part .. or not as the case may be because no matter how often I dream of driving a metal machine really fast while sounding like the growls of turbo powered grizzly bear, I’d rather not be a danger to myself and everyone around me while my brain scream ‘What The Hell Am I Doing!’ and stick with the safe travel speed of foot power, i.e., at least one foot on the ground at all times and if this conjures up an image of a hopping man, my apologies. Now before I ramble on further I shall call it a night and hopefully dream of my i8910 if it ever gets here

It’s always a good time and as expected sweets and drink were available. Not that it was the only reason I went, of course.

First, we have my favourite project of the day, Helicopter

Unfortunately, they were being safety conscious and decided not to hae the 4 rotors, one on each arm on. The demonstration video showed it flying around and avoiding hitting object automatically, they could even control it via text message. I wish I could have played around with it

Secondly, satellite tracking

Now, doesn’t that look cool! It’s an ongoing project so not 100% complete but their objective is to track and communicate with satellites as they fly overhead (on top of Glasgow) They’re eventually planning to have it installed on the roof of the building

The last two weren’t exactly within my interests per se but I’ll put them up for diversity

It’s a telemetry acquisition device for a car, namely Formula Student and they did an interesting comparison with a commercial system which showed that it was more feature packed for less than half the price. Maybe it’ll be commercialised

Lastly, I never really got a good look at this one, but was impressed by the size of the flywheel

There were a few other good project, one done by the students who were one year below me in the same course showing an automated security camera that noticed when objects are removed or moved or put into the frame and highlighting with a red border. Not got a good shot of that though

I’m so bored right now, I dont even feel like going home. I’m going to stay in and finish this bit of writing completely, it will be good but my brain feels like frozen fudge right now. Speaking of dessert today it was carrot cake with lunch. A bright point to my day

I even put it on a pedestal, was nice but a bit chunky for my liking, is it too much information that I can still taste it if I burp?

It’s been an eventful week or so, lots of things going on. My mum went away to Pakistan yesterday for a few weeks, I worry about that place it’s pretty violent these days, bombs every other day.

I did have a nice cake on Saturday though, it was wonderful. Thinking about it makes the worry go away

Yum yum, in my tum. Although some people [one person] still don’t agree that it’s a pretty cake. They would be wrong, it has a natural beauty >.<

I have an Easter Egg with mug, I shall open it on the weekend, I just get in trouble for opening things early, like birthday presents and such

Tonight’s headline revolves around a little known game of Minesweeper, and how you could foil the next major plot that potentially, maybe, involves Tom Clancy plot lines and/or 24′esque style subterfuge.

Yes, your country NEEDS you, desperately, to find mines using the group mind of suspicion and window watching to tell us where they will strike next.

Keep vigilant people! Remember, that guy who keeps staring at you while you peer at him via high powered binoculars with laser sighting should definitely be reported.

On the Sunday I went for a walk and sauntered through my local park, it’s great calm, peaceful and full of wildlife. I go through often, and on this particular occasion I decided to grab a bite too

Yummy, just what I was looking for a nice bit of grey squirrel to feast on. Not much meat on them but satisfying snack. Using all my skills learnt from Ray Mears: Test wind direction so it doesn’t get my scent; making slow movements so as not to alarm the intended target

Nearly there, hasn’t seen me yet thankfully, and then my stomach grumbled in anticipation, quite loudly too – I sort of surprised my self.

BUGGER RAN UP THE TREE!

Awwww, dinner was ruined, very annoyed, had to rectify by going and grabbing a Wispa bar instead. Next time I’ll catch him though.

P.S. It is ok for a guy to saw ‘Awww’ I wont hear anymore on the matter!

For those that don’t know, it’s basically a street level map consisting of multiple images captured by the Google camera car that has a tower on it with many camera for full 360 degree vision.

Although, it is useful there is a cottage industry of people catching people doing strange strange things that just happen to have been captured.

In fact one of the reasons I was waiting for this is because I saw the google car drive past me at some point last year, and I thought oh no … I’m going to be on it … and indeed I was

The strangest thing about it is that I am wearing the exact same clothes today (except the jacket) as I was that day, which probably says more about my wardrobe than anything else

Well, back to work now

I’m not a big talker so maybe it’s a failure to communicate on my part, yet I have so much to say. Been sitting here for a few days now, observing the world pass by. At least I’m warm and healthy, although getting around is a chore I’m happy with my perch. Been thinking of buying a new hat, but nothing firm yet. I did get bored and take a picture of myself

Perhaps tomorrow I shall go out and visit some friends, I’ll take the train I think and hopefully avoid the neighbour’s dog Rufus, time for a nap
